Reminder of shoe party!

Just a reminder! Tomorrow morning is my shoe party from 10am - 1pm. I am really excited because I just got off the phone with the owner and she said that she will have 60 pairs of shoes to try on instead of 40! And Over 40 handbags and A TON of sunglasses! The best part is, if you spend $60, you get a FREE pair of sunglasses....FREE! Again, no shoes are over $25! I have had alot people ask how the shoe buying process goes....there will be 4-5 sizes in every shoe and you can try on all 60 if you want! Then you order them and they will be here in 5-7 days. So dont worry about the shoes being on a first come first serve basis. If you cant come right at 10 or you cant come till even 1...thats fine, the shoes will still be here! BUT the handbags and sunglasses are...once they are gone, there gone. I hope to see you all there! Let me know if you need directions! Just shoot me an email!

Hey Everyone! This Saturday, May 2nd I am having an open house at my home from 10am until 1 pm. There will be TONS of CUTE shoes to try on! Over 40 pair! Now that the weather is finally warm again its time to wear all the cute open toe shoes and sandles! There will be 4-5 sizes in every shoe to try on. Not only are they way cute, but none of them are over 25 dollars! Thats right, every pair is 25$ or less! There will also be TONS of CUTE sunglasses for 10$ and also handbags for $40 dollars or less! Maddox Maxwell

Well, after a long, emotional journey...Maddox Maxwell is finally home. Maddox was born on Monday March 16, 2009. We went in Sunday Morning and after a long day of labor, he entered the world early Monday morning. Delivery went extremely fast. He was out in about 15 seconds. From the first time Jake brought him over to see me, we knew he didnt look right. He was blue and couldnt really cry or make any noises that didnt sound gargled. I paged the nurse back into our room, she took one look at him and took him away. We had no idea what we were in for. Jake followed the nurse out and didnt come back for 2 hours. He came to me with news that Maddox was having a hard time breathing. Not something you want to hear about your brand new baby. We had no idea the severity of the situation until the next few days unfolded. He was delivered at a hospital with a level 2 NICU and was in there immediately following his birth. I wont get into detail but I wil tell you that I have never felt the hurt in my heart that I felt there. I have never experienced anything like that. My husband and I were faced with feelings and thoughts that no parents should have to feel following the birth of their child. To be honest, we were unsure what was going to happen. They didnt know what was wrong. Finally after they had a cardiologist come, they concluded he had pulminary hyper tension and seperations of tissue in his heart. On Tuesday early evening, Maddox was transferred by ambulance to the level 3 NICU at Siena. He was on a breathing machine which did 100% of his breathing and on alot of medications to open up and clear his lungs. Again, I will spare the details, but it was a long and emotional 10 days in the NICU. The hardest parts were not getting to ever hold him until he was 8 days old, not getting to see his eyes open until day 8 as well because he was so heavily sedated the entire time, having to leave him there alone when I had to leave the hospital to be with my other kids, and just not knowing what was going to happen from hour to hour. I didnt sleep for a very long time and I was constantly worried that something would happen while I wasnt there. Aside from the other conditions he was being treated for, he also suffered from pneumonia, and a collasped right lung. Now for some good news. The drs were very impressed with him with how well and how fast he was recovering. Once they diagnosed him and treated him with the necessities he fought his way the entire time. We kept calling him our little fighter and our warrior. He continued to fight and recovered very well. He will have no long term effects from this which we are happy about. The Drs told us he is a normal healthy baby now and to treat him like as if it never happened. He is a wonderful baby and we are enjoying having him home. As you can imagine, we all battle who gets to hold him and we never put him down. :) We cant stop staring at him and we love him to pieces. The kids love him and do very well with him. We are overly protective of him and that will problably never change! :) Things are going very well for him. We definitely feel very blessed to have him home. We are closer than ever as a family and closer to the Lord. We had so many people praying for Maddox and our family, and we felt it. Maddox received many blessings and his name was put into 3 different temples. We know Maddox has a purpose here on earth and we are so grateful for a full recovery. Thank you for all the prayers, text messages, and the many wonderful meals that everyone has done for us. We have felt the love of everyone and it has definitely helped.

Karate!

Jax started karate a few weeks ago and LOVES it. He does kicks and punches and yells "hi-ya!". We enjoy watching him do it because he likes it so much! He is always smiling during it and whenever he does something he likes or thinks is cool, he looks over at us and gives us the thumbs up!

Holy Smokes....Its been FOREVER!!

So, as everyone knows already, I have been a HORRIBLE blogger! I dont know what has happened to my blogging but Im so far behind now that I dont even know where to start! SO, bare with me on this post...Im going to just catch up on the last few months of our lives in hopefully no more than 2-3 posts! Here goes.......
Ryleigh had her Christmas dance recital and she did GREAT! We are so proud of our little dancer! She has really enjoyed taking dance and we are always impressed with how well she does! She is continuing to do dance right now and has also taken up gymnastics as well! She is a busy little girl but LOVES it!
Jax had his Christmas program at school and did a really great job! We worked and worked on his speaking part and although he was a bit shy at the microphone, he said his part! We were so proud! He sang all the songs and just looked like he was having a really good time! Except for the when we first put on his costume!!The theme was "Christmas Around The World" and Jax and his cousin Tyson were from the country Germany. The teacher first gave him a TINY red outfit. We all thought it was HILARIOUS and obviously adorable on him! You couldnt look at him without smiling or laughing just because it was so funny...but cute! Well, he kept complaining that it was too small and it hurt ( and I think he was a little emabarassed) so we asked the teacher for something else...She only had one more which was WAY too big but it worked and he was comfortable! Im just glad we got a few pics in his little hot red number before he changed!!
Finally for this post.....CHRISTMAS! We had a great Christmas! We decided last Christmas that we dont want to travel on Christmas anymore. We will before or after, but we want to be home, in our own house, for Christmas morning! We have started traditions as a little family and we love it! We want to continue those on for years to come. We had Christmas Eve dinner at my parents house(who live 10 min away) and opened gifts from them and Grandma. Every year we get the kids Pajamas that they open Christmas Eve, so they opened those from us and then we were off to get home to make cookies for Santa! We made yummy cookies for Santa(thanks to my sis Emilys Fabulous cookie dough! Thanks Em!) and put them out for Santa along with some Egg Nog. Yeah...Jake told the kids he heard Santa wanted Egg Nog instead of milk this year so thats what we put out! Like every year, Jake and I have a blast putting Christmas together that night when the kids go to bed ( I mean we help Santa where he needs it!) and cant wait to see their faces in the morning! They woke up excited and happy and it made for a wonderful Christmas Morning! They loved everything they got and we loved watching them open everything! After, we had our traditional Christmas Morning Breakfast at my parents where my dad makes an AMAZING feast! Thanks Mom and Dad...it was delicious! Then we all just relaxed and enjoyed a great day! Another wonderful year filled with many wonderful memories!

We love the Snow!!

So, as many of you have already read on the other hundreds of blogs...we got snow baby! And alot of it! At first it was just the snow flurries and we didnt think it would stick, but we were wrong! It was a winter wonderland! In fact, it snowed so bad that Jake left work to come home, which is normally a 15 min drive, and 2 hours later he called me to tell me he was stuck! His car got stuck in the snow! Luckily my brother in law John has a big 4wheel drive truck and came to help him! He towed Jake home and after over 2 1/2 hours Jakey was finally home! (Poor John was spotted towing Jake and got asked to tow about 4 other people! Sorry John but thanks a ton! We owe ya!) So, it started snowing that morning and was still snowing when we went to bed that night! My kids LOVED it! Especially Ryleigh! She has been asking for it to snow since October so she was so excited! She never once complained about it being cold or that she was wet or anything! She basically lived outside! For 2 days straight the kids woke up and asked to go outside so we got snow clothes on ( what little we had) and went out and played. Then we would come in after a while (only b/c Jax wanted to..not on Rys request!) and 30 min later after they thawed they wanted to do it all over again! And dont worry...we did. It never snows here, especially like this, so I was not about to tell them they couldnt go play in it! I let them go out whenever they wanted for however long. I knew it wouldnt last long and I wanted them to enjoy it! And boy they did! We had snow ball fights, built large snowman, built forts, all kinds of stuff! It was great and we hope it snows again real soon!
